Things I'm Talking About

  • Maryland has a pending bill to help protect vernal wetlands.
  • ICE is cracking down on local restaurant staff, including those with visas.
  • The Heated Rivalry dance party at The Anthem on March 6 is having a Shane & Ilya lookalike contest, but you'll need to already have tickets to enter because it's sold out.
  • With the layoffs of the Washington Post's local sports coverage, the Baltimore Banner has announced they are going to be covering DC sports. They had announced recently that they will also start covering Prince George's County, so this seems like an expansion of DC-area local coverage.
  • US Botanic Garden is hosting a talk about their first-ever corpse flower that will bloom in the winter, for those interested in the science. They haven't announced their normal corpse flower watch so it's unclear when it will actually bloom, but keep an eye out if you want to go see one of these rare flowers.
  • With the sewage spill in the Potomac, the Army Corps of Engineers is being pushed to find alternative sources for drinking water in case of future emergencies. Currently, DC depends on the Potomac River, and only has 1 day backup supply.
  • DC is gearing up for a fight with the federal government after its tax bill. DC Attorney General says that Congress did not legally repeal a DC bill that decouples parts of the DC tax code from the federal tax code.
  • If you like flowers, reminder that Art in Bloom is coming up and frequently sells out.

If youโ€™re dealing with a toxic workplace, unfair treatment, or sudden termination, you may feel overwhelmed, isolatedโ€”or unsure of what to do next. Thatโ€™s where Broderick C. Dunn comes in.

Broderick is a DMV employment attorney who helps employees navigate complex workplace issues like discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and retaliation with clarity, compassion, and legal expertise.

Whether you need advice, negotiation support, or representation in court, heโ€™s here to help you understand your rightsโ€”and assert them confidently.

Every worker deserves to feel safe, respected, and treated fairly. If thatโ€™s not your reality, itโ€™s time to talk.

A friend yesterday said he could smell it going over the 495 bridge by Cabin John yesterday, and that he could smell it very strongly with his windows closed. The I-66 bridge over the Potomac is reduced...
