Biggest news for this weekend is the military parade running through the streets of DC to celebrate the Army's 250th anniversary. Estimated to cost $45 million during a period of government austerity, many are upset. While the Army is installing metal plates in key locations to help prevent damage from tanks, DC government is worried about the damage to roads, which they often don't get reimbursed for, despite promises.

People weren't happy with what many called a North Korean-style military parade that they believe will be a prop of the president instead of a celebration of the Army, but now with the LA protests and riots against ICE action, but now, thing are even more tense. Protests like No Kings are purposefully not scheduling anything in DC.

Practically, it's going to impact a lot of movement around DC.

Roads will be closed for the parade, with some closed all day Friday through Sunday.

Metro will be open with only one entrance of the Smithsonian stations closed. People are advised to metro instead of take the bus because of the road closures.

Boats are also limited from 2PM Friday to 10 PM Saturday, unable to pass between Long Bridge (395/14th Street Bridge) and the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge (66).

I am a panic buyer of...

I've included many in today's list, but there are way too many to fit in this email. If you're like me and take the bus, you'll want to check the changes. While some bus lines are staying on mainly the same route, even there they are reducing the number of stops. For other lines, they are being merged into...
