DC's emancipation celebration the year after the Civil War ended brought thousands of Black people to the streets for a parade, speeches, and celebration along Pennsylvania Avenue and Franklin Square on April 19, 1866.

This year, it was the 20th anniversary of DC Emancipation Day being an official holiday.

Give your opinion, and check back next week for the results.
